What better time to revisit Beetlejuice than on it's 30th Anniversary. The film has recently been given the 4K remaster treatment and been playing in cinemas around the country, making this the perfect opportunity to dig it up, blow off the cobwebs, and reevaluate its place in cinema.
While it doesn’t push any boundaries, Spider-Man: Homecoming succeeds through sheer force of good will alone. Its likable characters do drift through a pretty standard story, but the added humour and wily casting elevate it to a breezy and fun popcorn movie.
It will entertain for it's runtime, but due to it's tame scares, slight overacting and undeveloped antagonist, there's nothing here that leaves a lasting impression.
